Seattle Indivisible is supporting the Save DACA rally beginning at 2PM on Tues, 9/5 at El Centro De La Raza, 2524 16th Ave. S. Centilia Cultural Center at 1660 S Roberto Maestas Festival Street, Seattle, WA 98144. This event is being organized by a large coalition of local immigrant rights organizations, and Seattle Indivisible wants to let them know WE ARE IN FULL SUPPORT.

Seattle Indivisible believes that supporting our Dreamers is critically important and YES, we want our organization to turn out in force for this rally. But, rather than organizing a separate event, we thought it particularly important in this situation to solidly stand in support of efforts led by our local immigrant advocate leaders and communities. So we apologize for the late notice, but literally dozens of immigrant rights organizations have been busily planning over this Labor Day weekend, and have asked for Seattle Indivisible’s support, so here’s what we know (please check back frequently for updates):

The event is scheduled to begin at 2PM at El Centro De La Raza Centilia Cultural Center with a public press conference, followed by a few speakers and a rally. Please come, bring your friends and your favorite Save DACA signs. Seattle Indivisible has created a few You-Print signs for the event that you can Download printable posters here.

Look for our Seattle Indivisible banner tomorrow afternoon and let’s stand together in support of our Dreamers and demand that Congress act now to save DACA!

Over the past five years, DACA has provided 800,000 immigrant youth protection from deportation, the opportunity for higher education and jobs, and more stability to our communities. Similarly, TPS has aided over 300,000 immigrants from Africa, Haiti, Central America, Syria, Yemen and other countries that have suffered from major catastrophes.

September 5th is the deadline that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and 9 other right-wing politicians have given Drumpf to end the DACA program.

That's why on September 1st, cities and states across the country, thousands of immigrant youth and allies will continue to take to the streets to demand the Drumpf administration protect the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) and the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) programs.

DACA recipients, immigrants protected under TPS and our allies have a message to the Drumpf administration: We have won before, we will win again, and we are #HereToStay.
