The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2092 and the Huron Valley Area Labor Federation (HVALF), AFL-CIO, are organizing a rally to defend the VA from the illegal cuts that Trump and Musk are trying to impose.  At the rally we will march, sing, chant, and hear from union leaders, people who rely on VA services, and elected officials who are leading the fight to defend vets and the VA in DC.

PARKING: Unless you are a veteran, you should not park in the VA Hospital parking lot.  Instead, use UM parking across the street from the VA on the north side of Fuller Road: NC 8, NC 5, NC 16, NC 60, NC 43, and NC 78 are all available (see map here).

TESTIMONY: About 30% of federal government employees are veterans.  Go to this link to listen to a few of the many vets who lost their federal government jobs in the first round of Musk/Trump cuts, some of whom were VA employees. For recent reporting on the impact of the cuts on the quality of mental health services for vets, read this New York Times article.

We are looking for people who can come to our rally and share how they are impacted by the recent cuts to the VA and the uncertainty and chaos reigning around future cuts. If you regularly rely on VA services and would be willing to speak about your experiences since the cuts began please fill out this google form. We will contact you.
