What is organizing? Why and how do we do it in the DSA? What exactly do we mean by defunding and abolition? And how do our answers inform the structure and development of the #DefundNYPD Abolition Campaign?

This onboarding session is for all levels of experience. We welcome you, whether you are new to these ideas and are looking for political education or simply want to know more about our campaign.

Bonus! At the end of the meeting around 8:30, we will stay on-call for an extra half-hour to introduce our "pod" proposal, which will provide small-group settings for members to develop organizing skills, ask and field questions, build relationships across different subcommittees, and workshop new ideas. We ask that anyone interested in learning more and/or leading a pod sign-up here and stay on for this section of the meeting.
