What is a “Dinner Without Borders”? Dinner without borders is a space for imagining and practicing a world rooted in solidarity rather than separation. A space to laugh, break bread, honor our ancestors, and carry forward the legacy of internationalist movements.
This gathering is hosted by the Bay Area Black Migrant Solidarity Group whose organizational members include, the Black Alliance for Just Immigration, Partner Trauma Recovery Center, Priority Africa Network, Anti Police Terror Project, Bay Area Resource For Newcomers, African Advocacy Network, and the Contra Costa Immigrant Rights Alliance. The solidarity group has been meeting weekly since August to provide rapid response and advocacy for Black migrants impacted by detention and ICE enforcement. Our work includes legal support, wellness assistance, resource sharing, and statewide collaboration to uplift Black migrant demands.
We are organizing this dinner in partnership with: Bay Area Solidarity Summer, Alliance of South Asians Taking Action, Nodutdol, CA Poor People’s Campaign, Palestinian Feminist Collective, CA-Nev Philippines Taskforce, the Original Blackprint, the Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project Bay Area and others. This free, public event is a gathering to uplift the community, share a meal, and build solidarity across our global struggles for liberation.
