The Douglas County Activism Task Force is introducing a positive vision for the future with the theme, "We demand better for all." This protest is part of the August 2nd national mass mobilization day.
Thus far, our national movement has focused on anger. The national theme for August 2nd is “Rage Against the Regime.” That’s fair—we’ve had a lot to be enraged about! But to build the world we want, we need more. We need a positive, clear vision for the future.
So here in DougCo, we’re launching a new initiative: the “We Demand Better for All” campaign.
What does “better for all” mean?
- It means with a fair day’s work, everyone can afford housing, food, medical care, and education.
- It means the government protects and strengthens our civil rights, and no one is afraid of being vanished by the government without due process.
- It means prioritizing the people over the billionaires.
- It means showing those in power we understand a rising tide lifts all ships. We are the tide. We are rising.
What can YOU do?
- Sign our letter to Boebert saying that we demand better. We will have it ready for physical signatures at the protest. Afterwards, we’ll deliver it to Boebert and publicly keep track of how long it takes her to respond. It’s time we shine a light on her failure to represent us.
- Share the message! We have a toolkit for anyone to use on our linktree. Share this concept with organizers and friends across the country. Let’s make “We Demand Better for All” a national message!
- Be there at our protest on August 2nd. Any sign is welcome, but we’re encourage signs in the form of:
- “We demand better ___ for all” (Ex, “We demand better healthcare for all”)
- “We demand better____for all, but Boebert did XYZ” (Ex, “We demand better healthcare for all, but Boebert cut Medicaid”)
