DSA Fundraiser for Izola and Josie at Clear Skies Meadery, Rockville

Metro DC DSA has endorsed Izola Shaw (District 3, Rockville and Gaithersburg) and Josie Caballero (at-large) for Montgomery County Council in the 2026 primaries. Both Josie and Izola are campaigning for a more affordable and just Montgomery County and will need organized money and organized people to counter attacks from big business, real estate, and landlords.
Josie Caballero is a longtime progressive leader, organizer, and public servant. She has served as the director for voting and elections for Advocates for Trans Equality and on the Maryland Commission for LGBTQ+ affairs. Izola Shaw is a lifelong public servant and organizer for economic justice. She currently serves on the Rockville City Council where she has led the charge for rent stabilization and built a tenant movement in the city. Izola is also a former federal worker who worked with her coworkers at NIH to form a union, fighting for fair treatment and stronger protections right up until she was fired by the Trump administration.
