Emergency Rally - Tell Governor Kathy Hochul - Stop the Trump Gas Pipelines!
Start: Wednesday, September 03, 2025•12:00 PM

As the climate crisis rages, Trump and the fossil fuel industry are working to bully our state into approving massive fracked gas pipelines that we’ve already rejected, including the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) Pipeline, a zombie pipeline whose water quality permit was denied in 2019 and 2020 by the DEC.
Fossil fuel pipelines poison our water, destroy habitats, raise our utility bills, and put our communities at risk. With a a decision on the NESE Pipeline looming, Governor Hochul and the DEC must stand up to Trump and reject this pipeline. She must hear strong resistance from us as a decision may be imminent.
Join us to rally this Wed., Sept. 3, at noon in front of the Albany DEC Office HQ (625 Broadway), to tell Governor Hochul and DEC Commissioner Lefton to stand up to Trump and deny the NESE and Constitution Pipelines.
Supported and co-sponsored by Frack Action, Citizen Action NY, Food & Water Watch, NYPIRG, Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter, Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline, FrackBusters NY, NYPAN Enviro Committee, and more.
Background:
The NESE pipeline would carve 24 miles through New York Harbor, stirring up toxic contaminants, threatening fish and wildlife, and violating water quality standards. Our Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) denied this project three times already. But now, the Trump-backed industry is trying again, and Governor Hochul must once again say no for NY.
All this while the client, National Grid, actually admits there is no need for the gas in NYC.
The Constitution pipeline’s planned route in 2016 was approximately 125 miles from Susquehanna County, PA, to Schoharie County, NY, crossing 250 waterways. The pipeline would impact water quality given sedimentation, erosion, dredging, and changes in turbidity, posing harms to sensitive streams, trout, and other habitats. The NY DEC denied the Constitution pipeline a water quality certification under the Clean Water Act in 2016 due to the potential impacts on water and the project's failure to demonstrate compliance with the state water quality standards. This decision was upheld by both the NY Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018.
We’ve stopped these pipelines before. Now it’s time to show up and stop them again.
Join us in Albany to demand that Governor Hochul stand strong against the climate change-denier in the Oval Office by denying the NESE and Constitution pipelines. No Dirty Pipeline Deals with Trump!
