Rep. Hong has been a Madison Area DSA member since 2020. Fran accepted when initially approached in 2023 to seek the endorsement of Madison Area DSA during the 2024 campaign season.

Hong’s greatest socialist state policy includes: a declaration of Economic Justice Bill of Rights, State School Meal for All Policy (and started Healthy School Meals for All Statewide-Coalition), a ceasefire resolution, paid family leave, eliminating tipped minimum wage, and passing AB 232 into law: requiring Wisconsin classrooms to teach Hmong American and Asian American history.
