OWR Environmental Committee
Activists, experts, citizens, and neighbors come together! Join our Environmental Committee to do the work necessary to protect Wisconsin's natural resources. We fight for justice on crucial issues such as pipelines, hunting, combating fossil fuels, getting big money out of government, and much more.
We have a very special guest joining us this month, State Representative Francesca Hong! Fran (she/her) is a mom, a service industry worker, and a community organizer. Elected in 2020, she is the first Asian American State legislator in Wisconsin. Her pro-worker, pro-family, and pro-public legislative priorities include the Economic Justice Bill of Rights, Healthy School Meals for All, full funding for public schools, and universal paid leave. Her dedication to service is rooted in sharing power with working-class people and building cross-racial solidarity. She is the co-founder of the Culinary Ladies Collective, Dane County Food Collective, and the Healthy School Meals for All WI Coalition. She also serves on the boards of Rooted WI, Kennedy Heights Community Center, and the AAPI Coalition of WI. She is committed to building an inclusive and accessible government that the people of Wisconsin deserve—one that honors the potential of all communities and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to lead and flourish. Francesca and her son, George, are lifelong Wisconsinites and reside in the Tenney-Lapham neighborhood in Madison.
