Rally with us, Mayor Ras Baraka, Senator McKeon, Assemblywoman Alixon Collazos-Gill, Senator Burgess, Assemblyman Onyema, and other Essex County elected officials and advocates to say MAKE POLLUTERS PAY!
We've had a summer of extreme weather in NJ with heatwaves, flooding and severe storms, power outages, wildfire smoke, and even tornadoes. With this extreme weather comes extreme costs, in both dollars and in lives. New Jersey residents need relief. That's why we're rallying for the Polluters Pay Act in Newark on Wednesday, August 26th. This bill would help shift the growing cost of the climate crisis off of residents and onto the major fossil fuel extractors most responsible for this crisis, by making them pay their fair share. The bill would raise $50 billion to fund climate resiliency projects like flood control, electric grid upgrades, cooling centers, modern HVAC systems for our schools, and much more, while creating thousands of good jobs in the process.
It's time to Make Polluters Pay! Join us in Newark on August 26th!
