People's Budget Rally for Fair Share 3/3/2025

Maryland is facing a serious budget crisis this year. If we don’t take action now, we could lose funding for our schools, transportation, child care, and other essential programs.
In the past, our elected officials have filled budget gaps by expanding the sales tax, raising fines and fees, and cutting important services. Meanwhile, large corporations and ultra-wealthy individuals benefit from lower tax rates than the rest of us because of loopholes and tax breaks. Hardworking Marylanders can no longer afford to foot the bill, especially when everyday costs are so high.
It doesn’t have to be this way. The Fair Share for Maryland Act (HB 1014/SB 859) would reform our tax system to make sure everyone pays what they owe so our communities have what they need, without raising taxes on working families or small businesses. In fact, more than a million Marylanders would benefit from a tax cut.
Join Fair Share Maryland and individual advocates, small business owners, community and faith organizations as we gather in Annapolis to show legislators that Marylanders demand funding for our communities and fair taxation NOW!
We will have a bus from Baltimore and carpooling opportunities! Please let us know in the form on this page if you would like to ride the bus, need a ride, or are able to drive others.
Bus will leave at 5pm from Western High School at 4600 Falls Rd, Baltimore, MD 21209. This location has plenty of parking and is accessible by public transit. It will return to Baltimore by 9pm.
