GreenFaith and Laudato Si' Movement invite you to a special public event showcasing new research titled “Telling the Faith and Climate story: Engaging Mainstream and Religious Media.”
With 87% of the world's population projected to identify with a religion by 2050, faith communities represent one of the world's largest constituencies for climate action globally. As newsrooms prepare for COP30 coverage, and as religious leaders speak to their followers about the climate crisis, this event will explore how religious voices on climate are reported in the media, and how religious people, motivated by values of compassion, care for the earth, and justice, can emerge as a formidable force in the climate movement.
For religious communities and leaders: Learn how insights on media coverage of religious voices on climate can inform your speaking and teaching
For journalists: Understand how climate issues are reshaping faith communities worldwide
For content creators and influencers: Tap into global religious networks driving climate action in different regions, meet and interview key spokespeople from diverse faiths engaged on climate
The event will be followed by a light lunch and networking from 12:30-1:30 pm.
This event is co-sponsored by Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action
