THIS EVENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ALLIES TO USE OUR PRESENCE AND OUR VOICE AT THE DETENTION FACILITY. MANY PEOPLE FROM THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIZED AT THIS FACILITY OR ARE STILL AT RISK BECAUSE OF AGENTS WITHIN THIS FACILITY, IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT WE STAND FOR THEM (HOWEVER, THIS IS OPEN TO EVERYONE AND OUR IMPACTED BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ATTENDANCE WILL BE SUPPORTED) THIS WILL BE A PEACEFUL EVENT WITH A STRONG MESSAGE FOR THE LEADERS IN OUR STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. WE WILL NOT BE SILENT WITNESSES TO THESE ATROCITIES. WE WILL STAND AND FIGHT AGAINST THESE ACTIONS.

We will be hearing from leaders within local immigrant rights groups regarding the national initiative to “DeFund ICE” and its for profit system aimed at tracking and criminalizing immigrants, how we can support this effort, and what the next steps are.

Learn about the People’s Resolution, how it will positively impact our immigrant community and how we can endorse/support it.

Demand That Families Be Kept Together

Listen to stories from impacted people and learn about the devastation created by the separation of families. Hear these stories in order to be an advocate for these communities in calling for an end to these inhumane practices

Provide information on those in sanctuary across Colorado and how we can help them
