Fair budget is fighting for a level playing field for every DC resident and a strong social safety net for those most impacted. Over the past couple of months, we’ve been canvassing across Wards 7 and 8 to ask residents how they would like their tax dollars to be spent to better their community. We took note of folks answers and are excited to keep building. Our next step in the process is to bring community members together for an “east of the river listening session”, where we’ll bring community members together to share out the data that has been collected, invite feedback, and fill in any community priorities that are missing. Participants can expect to learn about some DC budget basics, hear read outs from the data collected in their communities, and inform FBC's next steps.
