What will we be chatting about this month?

I know that job hunting and dealing with ageism in hiring are things that are on a lot of your minds. That's why we're bringing back Lisa Jensen, Program Manager for Workforce Boulder County. Lisa brings extensive experience helping jobseekers age 50+ in this tough job market, and can I say that she also brings her own experience dealing with sudden job loss and job hunting for over a year before she discovered how to get those interviews. I always learn something from Lisa and I know you will too.

I plan to ask Lisa questions about how to avoid age bias in hiring, resume and LinkedIn tips, how to get that interview, and more. And submit questions YOU HAVE when you register, and I'll add them to the queue.

What is a coffee chat?

In 2025, I started once again hosting coffee chats on ageism, one of the most popular monthly events we did in Changing the Narrative.

This year, we'll be talking about things like the everyday actions any of us can take to end ageism, and a variety of other topics. All focused on my mantra: “Don’t talk about it! BE about it!"

These are opportunities for us to come together and talk about things that matter. These will truly be chats, not lectures so be prepared to fully participate, including in the chat and the breakout rooms.

Each session will have a featured guest, who I'll interview for about 15-20 minutes about a chosen topic. Then we'll go into breakout rooms for you to further share insights about the topic, then come back for a final Q & A session with our guest.

Will these be recorded?

We will NOT be recording the entire session so that everyone can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts. With our guest's permission, we'll record my interview with the guest, and then upload these to YouTube.
