Trans+ people have always been at the heart of the feminist struggle against patriarchy. Yet so many of us were never taught the rich, powerful history of Trans+ communities and ancestors.
Ahead of Trans+ History Week (4–10 May), Feminist Greens, Trans Greens, LGBTIQA+ Greens and Young Greens are coming together to help change that.
We’re proud to welcome Marty Davies - founder of Trans+ History Week - to deliver “The Trans+ History Lesson We Never Had.”
Join us for a short journey through millennia as we meet the Trans+ people who came before us and explore the milestones that shaped today’s fight for liberation.
We’ll then move into a panel discussion, bringing a feminist lens to Trans+ history and asking:
What does this history teach us about bodily autonomy?
What does it mean for solidarity across our movements?
And how can we use it to strengthen the fight for social justice today?

Panel Members:
Jess O’Thompson (They/Them) - Trans Legal Researcher
Dr Christyn Parkes (She/Her) - Senior Lecturer in History Education, Kings College London
Saahi Aroori (She/Her) - Women Officer, Young Greens
Panel Co-hosts:
Aliza Daly-Gourdialsing (She/Her) - Co-Founder and Diversity Officer, Feminist Greens
Marty Davies - Founder (She/They), Trans+ History Week
This is a space to learn, reflect and build collective power.
We look forward to seeing you there.
