FIGHT FOR $15 NOW

Start: Tuesday, November 10, 2015 4:30 PM

On Tuesday, November 10th CTA Union Members will again take to the streets of Orlando to demand $15 and a Union for all workers.  At the 2015 FEA Delegate Assembly almost 1,000 of your union sisters and brothers voted overwhelming to endorse and join the nationwide Fight for $15.  Many of you may have heard of this movement which began among  fast food workers to demand a minimum wage of $15 and the right to join a union.  Now that our unions have joined this movement through the vote of the Florida Education Association we are asking members to join together here in Orlando on a national day of action in support of the Fight for $15.

This effort is especially relevant for teachers and ESPs employed by OCPS because OCPS continues to pay less than $10 per hour to thousands of classified employees.  Its time to end OCPS' shameful practice of paying poverty wages.  Please join union members and other community supporters to march in support of the Fight for $15

Marchers will meet at Lake Eola at 4:30 p.m. on the corner of East Central Blvd and North Eola Drive.  The march will begin at 5:30 p.m. and should end by 6:30 p.m.   We will  march down Orange Ave to Orlando City Hall. Every Union Member that participates will receive a beautiful new CTA t-shirt.
