Fighting the far right and WINNING: GM Workers' and Tenants' Association launch

Greater Manchester Workers' and Tenants' Association is a new group bringing together workers, tenants and working class community members who are concerned about the far right.

Join us for our launch party, 5:30-8:30pm on Weds 29th July in central Manchester. The same date on which, in 1962, British fascist Oswald Mosley was kicked out of Manchester by the organisation of working class people.

We'll be discussing our strategy to build power against the far right over the long term. This work takes all of us so be prepared to get involved.

There'll be speeches from Taj Ali and local activists, music by members of Brown Wimpenny, and free food.

Tickets are free. Invite your friends, comrades, coworkers, neighbours, aunties and uncles.

We came together as a group of organised workers and tenants to challenge the far right in our workplaces and communities. We are an anti-racist organisation made up of activists in organisations, like trade and tenant unions, and open to all workers, tenants, worker and tenant organisations, and community members who want to combat the rise of the far right. We organise collectively in the patient, long-term work of addressing the material conditions of our lives (low wages, expensive housing, landlords, the hostile environment, etc). We believe that these are are currently providing fertile ground for the far-right to organise on and win a hearing.

We are not here to replicate or replace existing organisations but to complement, strengthen and support already-existing infrastructure, and develop in areas where there are gaps in the movement. We prioritise engagement with member-led democratic organisations over charities and service-providers.

We are not affiliated with or run by any political parties or far left organisations, although members of parties and organisations with aligned values are welcome to join.

We are anti-racist, trans inclusive, accessible and feminist.
