End: Saturday, July 22, 2017• 5:00 PM
Progressive Congress is convening a Regional Summit series during the 2017 Resistance Summer entitled: “Fighting Wall Street and Its Anti-Worker Agenda.” The first of three Regional Summits will be held in Minneapolis, MN on July 22, 2017.
This Regional Summit series seeks to build understanding across local, state, and federal lines to build a plan to fight back against big banks and the financial titans and their anti-worker agenda. It’s time for leading local, state, and national organizers and elected officials to combine forces, share strategies, and devise a common agenda to address issues of economic security and economic justice that impact us all.
We hope you can join us for this critical Regional Summit, “Fighting Wall Street and Its Anti-Worker Agenda” in Minneapolis, MN on July 22, 2017.
At Progressive Congress, we are committed to ensuring that bold ideas translate into concrete action: The primary goal of this Regional Summit is to build out regional strategy and develop a shared action plan to fight back against Wall Street’s power grab and anti-worker agenda.
This is a vital opportunity to exchange winning strategies and key lessons from prior campaigns. The Summit will elevate the anti-corporate work that advocates and community leaders are doing on the ground and connect those practices to work in Congress. This action plan will help bridge the gap between national and regional organizing: the goal is to produce strategies that grassroots organizers can take back to their communities and implement locally that will also help inform legislative discussions in Congress.
Please join us to help shape a common strategic agenda to fight back against corporations and empower working families.
We must educate our communities and our leaders about the issues that matter most, and we must be engaged on a continuous basis during these tumultuous times. These Regional Summits are an important first-step to move this agenda forward and build the infrastructure to connect the dots between progressive local and state officials and progressive Members of Congress in the region. We also want Americans across the country to know that Congressional Progressive Caucus Members and Progressive Congress are listening to and fighting for them! And want to hear their ideas to spark systemic change.
***PLEASE NOTE: This Summit is invite-only and space is limited. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Deputy Director Daniel Parkhurst at daniel@progressivecongress.org.
