Sex work, trafficking, and exploitation have dominated national and local news in recent years and months from Jeffrey Epstein to a highly lucrative brothel in Cambridge. Our community has been shaken not only by the harms themselves, but also by widespread misunderstandings of these terms. We have not forgotten the events of the past year. That is why we invite you to join The Black Response, the Boston Sex Workers and Allies Collective, and Professor Alex Vitale for a community screening of Sex Work: It’s Just a Job — a documentary that centers the lived realities, labor, and humanity of sex workers.

This film challenges stigma, exposes systemic harm, and opens space for honest conversation about safety, autonomy, and justice. So much of the conversation about sex work, trafficking, and exploitation comes from a reactive and moralistic place that lacks understanding. This event invites community members, organizers, advocates, and allies to learn together through thoughtul dialogue that will ground us moving forward.
