Join 50501 DC, FLARE USA, Free Speech for People and 50501 Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Vermont as we demand Congress passes a War Powers Resolution to end the war in Iran!

We will be attempting to conduct the largest single day of citizen lobbying of Congress to demand the passage of a War Powers Resolution to end the War in Iran. We had already planned this before Congressional Democrats announced that they would be taking a more proactive approach and hammering Republicans on this with as many votes as possible until they crack. If that is the case, we are ready and willing to be the anvil that the resistance to the War Powers Act cracks on.

We will be going to both the Senate and the House, with a particular focus on S.J. Res. 118 - A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. When we speak with members of the House, we will be telling them to demand passage of S.J. Res. 118 in the Senate as well as H.Con.Res.38 - Directing the President pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution to remove United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Those members of Congress who have already voted in favor of ending the war will bring both messages of support but also that we are watching and that we will be keeping them to their word to press on this until it passes. To those who have not voted in favor of ending the war, we will demand they change their position immediately.

Come April 29^th, we will find ourselves in a new Constitutional Crisis as the war hits the 60-day mark without Congressional approval. We are already seeing a shift in Senate Republicans position on the war as that date approaches which is why we feel that this is the right time to apply pressure, especially in the Senate.

With the deadline swiftly approaching, we think the winds are in our favor, and we will be the ones to provide the extra push to get us across the line and end this illegal war!
