On Sunday, October 19th, we're protesting in front of our local station to hold Fox accountable for poisoning our democracy. We understand KTXL Fox 40 provides some good local news coverage. What we are bringing attention to – and protesting against - is Fox 40’s payment of affiliate fees to the national Fox Network. Across the country, Fox affiliates collectively funnel billions of dollars into the Network, making local viewers and advertisers indirect sponsors of Fox’s highly partisan news coverage and political commentary. In effect, affiliate fees tie local stations to the broader Fox media machine, ensuring that money earned from Sacramento viewers contributes to sustaining the network’s controversial content and amplifying its reach.
