As part of the Free Families Pilgrimage: From Remembrance to Resistance, you are invited for an interfaith community gathering at White River Buddhist Temple on Thursday, October 8th from 6:30-8:00PM to conclude the second day of walking from sites of Japanese American incarceration in the greater Seattle-area to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.
Join us to:
- Come together for an evening of remembrance, resistance, and hope
- Hear from interfaith leaders on the ways that faith communities have taken action against oppression and supported congregations and communities
- Hear stories of these acts of resistance during Japanese American WWII incarceration and at current ICE concentration camps
- Hear from pilgrims on why we are walking 48 miles over 4 days, interspersed with song, ritual, and bon odori dancing
RSVP required due to limited space capacity.
