From Earth Day to May Day: For a Just Recovery and Our Future

Start: Wednesday, April 22, 2020 4:00 PM

End: Wednesday, April 22, 2020 5:00 PM

April 22 is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! Across the nation and in the Bay Area, communities of color, youth, immigrants, workers and union members are coming together for an empowering and inspiring livestream mobilization.

We understand that the fights against the coronavirus and the climate crisis go hand-in-hand and that is why we will be gathering online to envision a society rooted in sustainability and justice that also includes a just recovery from the coronavirus crisis.

Join the San Francisco community on April 22 at 4 pm PST to learn about our immigrant, communities of color and worker-led climate justice looks like in San Francisco and the Bay Area. You can also learn about the three-day national livestream at: https://www.earthdaylive2020.org/

Want to participate? Take a selfie with your message for the Earth Day to May Day montage. Print out a sign and add your message, or make your own sign that includes your organization or union local and your words.  We’d like to have photos of a hundred faces and signs already prerecorded, to stream along with art and music. Email your contribution to chema@seiu1021.org by end of day Monday April 21st.
