Important Logistical Info
- Attendance is free for job seekers
- Attendance is free for organizations looking to hire full-time, part-time, and short-term / cycle-based staff
- However, if -- and only if -- you hire a candidate you meet at the Generation Data career fair or who we otherwise help you source into a full-time permanent role, we do charge a tiered, refundable recruiter fee based on hiree starting salary. We also provide a pro-rated refund if the hiree leaves anytime in the fist year of employment.
- Charging recruiter fees helps us deliver our online trainings free of charge to students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate and helps make us more financially self-sustaining
- Our fee tiers for candidates you hire into full-time permanent roles are as follows:
- Hiree starting salary < $50,000 = free
- $50,000 - $59,999 = 2.5%
- $60,000 - $69,999 = 5%
- $70,000 - $79,999 = 7.5%
- $80,000 - $89,999 = 12.5%
- $90,000 - $99,999 = 15%
- >= $100,000 = 20%
- So for example if you meet a candidate the Career Fair and hire them into a Data Associate role earning $55,000 / year, we'd charge you $1,375. Similarly, if you share a post with us for a Senior Data Scientist role earning $110,000 and we help you source a candidate you ultimately end up hiring, we'd charge you $22,000.
- Representatives of hiring organizations will be provided a resume bank 2-3 days in advance to get a better sense of the candidate pool and their skills
- Once you RSVP, we'll follow up with more details on how to participate in the Virtual Career Fair (including a Zoom link)
- If you're a hiring organization, we'll also send an MOU outlining the recruiter fees, refund structure, etc. in more detail for you and your HR team to review
- For job seekers, space is limited and preference will be given to Generation Data students and alumni.
- Our virtual career fairs closely resemble in-person career fairs. Employers have a designated Zoom break out that students are free to drop in and out of.
- If you can't make it for the entire Career Fair, you're still welcome to join for as long as you like
- Periodically, we make separate arrangements with hiring organizations to wave the recruiter fees mentioned above in exchange for course sponsorships, in-kind contributions, or other strategically beneficial partnerships. If you're not sure if we have an alternative arrangement in place, please email hello@generationdata.org to find out.
If you have any questions, please email hello@generationdata.org.
