Get the Flock Outta Here: A Political Education Seminar
October 13 | 6:30–7:30 p.m. ET
Every child deserves to grow up in schools and neighborhoods built on trust, not constant surveillance. Join Parenting is Political, Generation Common Good, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) for a political education seminar about automated license plate readers, including Flock Safety systems, and what their use means for our communities.
We’ll break down how these technologies work, how we got here, and what’s at stake for privacy and civil rights, particularly for working-class communities, people of color, immigrants, and queer and trans people. We’ll also explore surveillance concerns related to accessing gender-affirming care.
Together, we’ll discuss concrete ways to demand transparency, engage school boards, organize on campuses, and advocate for safety strategies that invest in people. The seminar will close with 10–15 minutes for questions and discussion.
Safety is built through community. Join us to learn, connect, and take action.
