Join us for a creative advocacy event celebrating World Diabetes Day in Tacoma!
A picture is worth a thousand words, but what about an ornament made from the very supplies that keep us alive? This World Diabetes Day, we're turning our medicines into powerful symbols of resilience, gratitude, and hope. We'll be making a beautiful holiday tree decorated with ornaments crafted from diabetes supplies: empty vials, pump supplies, CGM sensors, test strip containers, and more. Each ornament tells a story to create a powerful message to our legislators!
Where It's Going: Straight to the Washington State Legislature! This tree is both a thank-you for their recent victories in lowering insulin costs AND a reminder that our fight for accessible healthcare is far from over. Legislators need to see us not as statistics, but as real people with creative spirits and determined voices. When we transform the tools of our daily survival into art, we make our experience visible, tangible, and unforgettable. Want to join us? You can bring:
- Empty vials, pump supplies, CGM sensors, packaging, tubing... anything diabetes-related (except sharps!)
- Your creativity and your story
- Hope for what's possible when we advocate together!
