Green, Healthy Schools Report Launch
Start: Wednesday, September 03, 2025•09:30 AM

NYC public schools are suffocating our kids. The greatest city in the world is running 75+ year old school buildings that are too hot, too cold, and plagued with mold, leaks, asbestos, and poor ventilation. As we ready for another school year, NYC schools should be leading our City toward a greener future, but rising temperatures and extreme weather are making this crisis worse, and school buildings are harming our health and our education, most of all in disadvantaged communities. With federal cuts threatening the future of our planet, it’s time for New York to deliver our own solutions.
Join ALIGN and the Climate Works for All coalition on the day before school starts with a call for Green, Healthy Schools! We’ll release a new report that shows how NYC can lead the nation by creating thousands of green jobs, investing in quality education, and delivering thriving communities, because students, teachers, and school workers deserve schools where they can work and learn safely.
