This winter, join Tipping Point for a 5-month training series covering a whole range of skills, tactics and knowledge that can help you grow and strengthen your group in a sustainable and care-centred way.

This new course is aimed at grassroots and community groups.  It combines elements of two previous training series: Healthy Groups and Movement Power as well as exciting new content on Tech Tools for Organising and Digital Security.

How will the Grow Your Group, Grow Your Power course work?

All sessions will be run online weekly on Mondays between November and March. We'd like two people from each participating grassroots group to join the course together ideally.

We’ll be asking everyone who participates to attend three core sessions:

  1. Opening Session (3rd November, 12pm or 6pm)
  2. Midway Check in  (12th January 2026, 12pm or 6pm)
  3. Closing Session (16th March, 12pm or 6pm)

Apart from those core sessions, you’re invited to each weekly session, or to choose just the ones that feel most relevant to you and your group’s needs. For each of week's topic, we’re offering a lunch time and an evening time slot - please choose whichever works best for you. We’ll also offer regular drop-in slots for troubleshooting and support along the way.

The course will be accompanied by a printed course workbook you'll receive by post and a range of online resources and tools which you'll have free access to. All sessions will be recorded and shared with registered participants.

All sessions will take place on Zoom, with closed captioning available. Each session will involve a mix of presentations, group work and personal reflection time. To join the course, you will need access to a stable internet connection and the ability to turn on your video / mic to participate fully. We also recommend having a pen and paper, and the course booklet to hand for each session. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us before joining the course to discuss how we can best facilitate your participation.
