Registered nurses and nurse practitioners at the Guelph Community Health Centre are in negotiations for a fair new contract with their employer so they can afford to continue providing the primary care their community needs.

These nurses care for patients with complex health issues and some of the most vulnerable community members who face barriers to accessing primary care.

Guelph CHC clients deserve continuity of care. However, over the past decade, Guelph CHC has become a revolving door of nurses. This is because Guelph CHC nurses are among the lowest paid nurses in the province.

With inflation and the rising cost of living, nurses simply can’t afford to continue providing primary care without a fair new contract.
