On October 15, workers and supporters in our community are taking part in a National Day of Action to make sure the government hears us loud and clear: protect the right to strike.

Enter your details to RSVP today.

Why does this matter to everyone?

Bill C-39 is a dangerous piece of legislation that grants a single federal minister sweeping powers to shut down legal strikes under a vague "national interest" banner. The right to strike isn't just a union perk; it is a constitutionally protected right that keeps regular working people on a level playing field with massive corporations and governments.

If the federal government succeeds in stripping these rights from federal workers, it sets a dangerous precedent. It will undoubtedly embolden provincial leaders to pass similar anti-worker laws that impact local teachers, healthcare workers, and municipal services right here in our community. When unions lose the ability to bargain fairly, wages stagnate, workplace safety declines, and the local economy suffers.

We cannot afford to stay silent. We are asking union members, community partners, and residents alike to line up outside MP O'Rourke’s office to demand that workers' rights are respected.

If we don't make a stand together today, we risk losing our collective voice tomorrow.

United we stand. See you on October 15th
