Guillermo Kane is a member of the leadership of the Partido Obrero of Argentina. He has been voted three consecutive times as a parliamentary representative to the Legislature of the province of Buenos Aires on the ballot of the Left Front in representation of electoral section 3, which concentrates the most populous working class districts of the Greater Buenos Aires area. He has been an initial organizer of the Polo Obrero piquetero movement in La Matanza, the largest municipal district in the country.
He has served as an editor on the Prensa Obrera newspaper and website, as well as the En defensa de Marxismo, marxist theoretical journal. He was one of the organizers for the recent International Conference in Buenos Aires which gathered a dozen revolutionary organizations and held a public rally “Against the governments of war and hunger”. He is currently a professor of the University of Buenos Aires.
