In a dark time, when a right-wing US President of low character and even lower IQ threatens to start wars that could envelop the earth, one Latin American country, led by a democratic socialist, stood in his way...

The Political Education Committee of East Bay DSA invites you to a screening of "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," a stirring documentary about the days in 2002 when the US helped topple the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, and how the response of the people led to a surprising and powerful outcome. After the movie, we will have time for a short discussion on the Bolivarian Revolution and the current attacks by the US on the country, including the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

Please arrive promptly. We will start the movie at 7:10. The movie lasts an hour and fifteen minutes, and we will go until 9 PM, including conversation.
