When did the height of summer become something to dread?
In 2022 the UK passed 40°C for the first time in recorded history, and it’s not getting any cooler. Unbearable heat waves are going to keep getting worse. But the government doesn’t have a plan to protect lives. It’s time they got the message, cool it!
Join the Green Party Trade Union group to hear from Heat Strike, the coalition organising to walk out of workplaces on the hottest day of the year. They join us ahead of their big mobilisation for Turn Up The Heat Week on 14-20th July.
In the members meeting we'll also be discussing GPTU plans for TUC Conference in September, and Green Party Conference in October, including a motion on strengthening our relationship with trade unions.
