Meet the Candidates and Members Social
Start: Tuesday, November 11, 2025•07:00 PM
Time: Hustings: 7pm-9pm, social: 9pm onwards
Location: Wolves Lane Centre, Wolves Lane, Wood Green, N22 5JD
We have ambitious plans for the May 2026 elections. And we need local people who are passionate about their community and its politics. So we’re holding a hustings to select two councillors for Hermitage and Gardens.
What is a hustings?
A hustings is a meeting where election candidates usually present themselves, answer questions and sometimes debate policy. Hustings offer voters the opportunity to hear the views of candidates.

What will happen?
The councillor candidates will speak for a few minutes about who they are and why they should be elected
The floor will open up for questions from the audience
Voting opens the next day: members will get an email with a link to an Opavote election
They then have a week to vote (a reminder is sent halfway through)
The hustings will last for around 1.5 - 2 hours. We’ll have a social after where you can meet other Haringey Greens.
If you can't make the hustings in person, you can join online using Zoom. A Green Party officer will moderate the chat and share questions with the room.
If you have any questions or you would like to speak to a Green Party Councillor to understand more about the role or process, please contact Sarah at info@haringey.greenparty.org.uk
