At Holy Wisdom Monastery, our mission is to weave prayer, hospitality, justice and care for the earth into a shared way of life.

Holy Wisdom Monastery became the first net zero energy retreat center in Wisconsin in September of 2024! The net-zero energy initiative completion was accomplished in two phases. The first phase was the installation of a 300-kilowatt, ground-mounted solar array and the interconnection of the array to the electrical grid. The second phase was the removal of an old natural gas-fired HVAC system from the Retreat & Guest House and replacement with a sustainable geothermal well system. Come and take a tour from 10:30-11:30am on 9/21 provided by sustainability professionals. Tours will start promptly at 10:30am.

Note: tour will take place outside and will involve standing and optional walking on uneven ground. Meet in the parking lot of the Retreat and Guest House (NOT the Monastery Building parking lot).
