You are invited to join an important community event on the passage of SB 420 in Georgia, a discriminatory land law that targets certain immigrant groups. The anti-immigrant law prohibits certain groups from purchasing real property in Georgia. With the engagement of community members, we have advocated against this issue for the past two years and achieved some changes to the bill to reduce its harm. Now that the bill has passed, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta partners with Stop AAPI Hate to hold a panel and community discussion.

Facilitated by Manjusha Kulkarni, Co-Founder of Stop AAPI Hate & Executive Director of AAPI Equity Alliance
Speakers and panelists will discuss the history of Anti-Asian policies and events. You will learn about some of the implications of these bills, what protections you have if you encounter instances of discrimination in purchasing or leasing real property. We will also have a panel of speakers to share their experiences fighting against this bill, and the current climate of anti-Asian policies and discrimination.
As we continue to understand the impact of the new law, we hold this community gathering to help ensure community members are aware of their rights, and to not let it instill fear in people as they seek to start a business, or purchase real estate. The event is a great opportunity to engage as a community, raise your questions or concerns, and speak out against systemic injustices.
Come join Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta and Stop AAPI Hate on September 28 to learn about your rights and how we can fight back against anti-Asian legislation.
