Housing Rights and Listening Workshop

Note: this workshop is for people living in, or working in, South London only.

This Housing Rights Workshop is a pilot initiative being developed in partnership with Citizens UK, Pembroke House, and Mentivity.

The workshop will bring together people experiencing a range of housing issues to share experiences, build connections, increase awareness of housing rights, and identify opportunities for collective action. Through a combination of listening, learning and organising, we aim to create a space where people can better understand common housing challenges, feel less isolated, and explore practical next steps.

The session is not intended to provide legal advice. Instead, we want to focus on building general understanding of housing rights, housing systems and sources of support, while creating opportunities for people to learn from one another, identify shared concerns, and take action.

This pilot is the first step in a longer-term programme of housing rights work. Insights from the workshop will help shape future, more in-depth sessions on topics such as housing disrepair, complaints and review processes, temporary accommodation, housing entitlements and other issues identified by local communities.

People closest to housing issues should play a central role in shaping change. By bringing together lived experience, community leadership and specialist knowledge, we hope to build both understanding and collective power around housing justice.
