As part of our involvement in the Protect The Harvest coalition, UK Friends of Standing Together invites you to meet two British activists from Achvat Amim (Solidarity of Nations, Israeli led organisation) and International Solidarity Movement (Palestinian led organisation) to discuss their involvement in "protective presence" activity in the occupied West Bank.

Daniel Mautner and Beau Elijah Sebastian (bios below) will discuss:

- Settler/state violence in the West Bank and the responses to it by the IDF, Israeli politicians, and Israeli civil society.
- The Protect the Harvest coalition, and protective presence as means to combat settler violence.
- The response of the international community to settler violence: what can be useful and what distracts from bringing about a change?

The event will feature presentations from the speakers, followed by an opportunity for questions and comments. Please register to attend.

This meeting is taking place as a fringe event at the Labour Party conference, with the cosponsorship of Simon Opher MP. We hope to discuss how Labour Party members can build support for groups in Israel-Palestine engaged in protective presence, and other forms of anti-occupation activity, within the party and wider labour movement.

However, the venue is outside the conference cordon and the event is open to members of the public, as well as conference delegates and attendees.

Daniel Mautner

Daniel is a British human rights and peace activist based in Jerusalem. He has coordinated and taken part in protective presence in the West Bank, most recently with Achvat Amim and CJNV, as well as volunteering in ambulances and with the Jerusalem Youth Chorus. He is pursuing an M.A. in Religion, Culture and Peace Studies at the United Nations University for Peace.

Beau Elijah Sebastian
