How to Become A Citizen Advocate

Thursday, January 11, 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET

Looking to learn how you can engage your members of Congress meaningfully without having to go to Washington D.C.?

Join the Center for Common Ground and Workers Circle for a training on what it means to be a citizen advocate and how you can engage your members of Congress around legislation that you care about. No experience is necessary - all are welcome! January legislation is the Senate introduction of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Our training will cover:

  • What does the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act accomplish? Why do we still need it
  • What it means to be a citizen advocate by engaging your members of Congress from your hometown
  • Review the letter to your US Senator
  • How to deliver letters and set up meetings with members of Congress
  • Actions you can take to protect democracy

Center for Common Ground is a 501(c)(3) organization.
