One challenge of Free DC's rapid growth has been helping new activists discover how they can best plug into the work. A one-on-one conversation with an established Free DC member is an effective way to help new folks discover how to connect their skills, interests, and availability with the numerous ways to get involved. Building personal relationships with other Free DC members and connecting new activists with meaningful opportunities will be even more important after Free DC's January 20 Walkout on Fascism. We expect that after that action, we'll have lots of people looking how to get more involved in Free DC, and we want to be ready!

You don't have to know everything about Free DC to host a one-on-one with a new activist. You just have to be a good listener, curious about others, and committed to helping someone find the role that works for them. Does this sound like you? Then please join us for a training on how to host a one-one to learn everything you need to know to get started. We'll cover the basic structure of a one-on-one conversation, tips for guiding the conversation in an effective way, and resources that will help you find the right match for those you talk to.

The session will be virtual on Zoom. You'll receive a Zoom link by email prior to the meeting.

Because one-on-one hosts need to be well-versed in the fundamentals of Free DC, it is required that you have attended an orientation to participate in this training.
