Over 83% of UK local councils have declared a Climate Emergency. But where is the climate action we need, such as solar farms, home retrofit, recycling and active travel routes?

Climate Emergency UK, along with the help of over 200 volunteers, have created the Council Climate Action Scorecards to measure actual climate action from all UK councils and hold them to account.

This session will cover:

  • How Climate Emergency created the Council Climate Action Scorecards and what the results show
  • How you can use the Scorecards in your campaigning - we'll dig into the data and how you can use it effectively and compare your council to other councils
  • and a chance to connect with other campaigners from around the UK and learn from each other

Climate Emergency UK published the Council Climate Plan Scorecards, measuring the strength of councils written Climate Action Plans in January 2022 with coverage in The Guardian and throughout the UK.

Climate Emergency created and published the Council Climate Action Scorecards methodology in November 2022 covering 91 actions that councils can take, and some already are taking, to reach net-zero

The Council Climate Action Scorecards results were published on 18th October 2023, along with guidance on how to use the Scorecards.

The Zoom link for the session will be sent in an email to you when you register for the event.

We have this session repeating on others dates too. Sign up to these if you can't make this date.
