Climate Emergency UK will be hosting a 'How to use the Scorecards' webinar on Thursday 26th June from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. This webinar will show how you how you can navigate the 2025 Action Scorecards results to find out about what climate action is happening in your local area.
With so many councils having set ambitious net zero targets for 2030, time is running out to deliver the climate action at the pace and scale needed. This is why we created a public accountability tool that can now also track councils' progress through time. This is our biggest move yet to help accelerate local climate action across the UK.
We identified, defined and assessed 93 policies and decisions that councils can take to mitigate climate change and biodiversity loss. The consultations at the origin of the assessment involved over 90 individuals and organisations. The assessment took over 5000 hours of research undertaken by 260 trained volunteers and 3000 hours further analysis by a team of 61 data auditors.
