Art, Play, a Giant Snail, a climate storytime, kid-friendly climate action, and bagels: What could be better?!

Join us in Evelyn's Playground (which is in the North end of Union Square Park) for a fun-filled playdate, artbuild and book release party. We'll be making props for an upcoming action, playing, writing letters to Gov. Hochul and sharing a brand new, original storybook about climate action in NYS! Then we'll do a mini-march in the park to send a message to our leaders in Albany!

Background: Having signed the Climate Change Superfund Act (woohoo! We helped do that!), Governor Hochul seems to think she can take a break from climate action. Sadly the huge amount of carbon emissions that New York is still pumping out tells another story, and with Trump in the White House destroying every green energy, environmental justice and protection program he can get his hands on, the whole world need's NY's climate leadership-NOW. NY state is  behind on meeting its own goals for emission reductions and Hochul is backtracking on her commitments to fulfill the obligations in New York’s landmark climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.

We need Gov. Hochul to support important legislation like the NY HEAT Act this session and rapidly implement the promised cap-and-invest program to fund the decarbonization of our state.

The climate emergency is here and we’re running out of time. As caregivers, we owe it to our kids to show up and tell Gov. Hochul that climate delay = climate denial, and she needs to protect families, not corporate polluters!
