- Hey i’m Paris and we’re going to sit outside Ian Murray's MP’s office because we need Labour to adopt a Green New Deal.
- Join us on 28th of July at 11AM. We’ll pick a cafe nearby to meet up at/ go for a walk and have a check in before heading over to the MP’s office. Be prepared for music and chants. We have plenty of placards and posters but feel free to bring your own!

About our campaign:

From now until the Labour Party Conference, we are going to sit outside Labour MP's local offices. By showing up week after week we can pressure Labour to adopt a Green New Deal in their manifesto and win a future where everyone can thrive.

We need young people in every Labour constituency to make this a reality. We will go bigger than we ever have before, become an unstoppable movement and elect a government who backs a Green New Deal. Let's go!

We have already seen how Labour backslide on their climate commitments under the smallest pressure from the fossil fuel industry and the rightwing press. We cannot allow this to continue. There can be no more broken promises. So we have five policy demands of the Labour Party:

  1. Tax Wealth Now - we need to tax wealth and capital at the same rate as income to fix inequality and ensure that health, education and other public services are properly funded.

  2. Expand Public Ownership - we need to bring fundamental public services into public ownership, expanding public ownership into water and energy.

  3. Promise a Green Jobs Guarantee and a secure income for all - Every single person who wants a job in the green economy should be able to get one as well as making sure our social security system provides a secure income so that everyone is taken care of.

  4. Enact a National Nature Service - we need to give communities a right to access nature and create tens of thousands of jobs protecting and restoring our land.

  5. Make Polluters Pay - The UK must do its global fair share to tackle the climate crisis, and build its capacity to do so through a permanent and progressive windfall tax.
