New research shows that at least 1 in 10 children in care are non British and have an immigration need, and that leaving this unaddressed can cost a LA up to £130,000 per child. Whilst the consequences for children and young people living without status are much worse.
In this workshop SLRA will be sharing their learnings from a 5 year project, helping a London Local Authority to address this issue. This will include sharing guidance on the internal policies, procedures, and the kind of practical guidance that supported social workers to successfully identify, connect, provide proactive support and seek permanence for all their children and young people with immigration needs.
