Interfaith Power & Light New Mexico & El Paso invites our community to come together for an evening to celebrate our collective work caring for our natural world.

Our annual celebration will feature

A Special Panel on our theme of Healing Relationships Within Our Sacred World

Host:  Laura Paskus, and environmental reporter and author of “At the Precipice: New Mexico’s Changing Climate,”  by the University of New Mexico Press.

Panelists

  • Ryan Tate, Divinity School student with United Church of Christ and Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at First Congregational
  • Eileen O’Shaugnesssy, (she/her) is a fourth generation Irish-American nuclear abolitionist organizer, educator, and musician living on Tiwa lands in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eileen teaches courses on nuclear issues, environmental and racial justice, and gender studies at the University of New Mexico and the Central New Mexico Community College. She is completing a PhD in Educational Thought and Sociocultural Studies at UNM. In 2016, Eileen co-founded the grassroots organization Demand Nuclear Abolition
  • Bishop Michael Hunn, Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, grew up in New Mexico and Texas. In over twenty years of ordained ministry he has served as a parish priest, a school chaplain, college chaplain, and Canon to Bishop Michael Curry. Prior to being consecrated as Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande. he has spoken on subjects such as non-violent communication, stewardship, and non-violent approaches to conversations about race.

Join us for food and drink with time to connect with our interfaith partners, music from David Poole, director of the New Mexico Peace Choir, and highlights from IPL’s work this year.
