Israeli-Palestinian Joint Memorial Ceremony: Live-screening
Start: Monday, April 20, 2026•06:00 PM
End: Monday, April 20, 2026•08:00 PM
Even while war, death, and injustice engulf us, we must imagine and build the reality that comes after - a day beyond violence and pain, beyond occupation, and beyond the belief that our lives must remain trapped in this cycle. This Ceremony is a memorial event, live-screened from Israel-Palestine, organised by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle Families Forum, both joint Palestinian and Israeli organisations. The ceremony recognizes the immense human cost of the violent conflict in Israel and Palestine—the price paid by all of us: bereaved families, communities, and society as a whole. We honor the pain and grief of both peoples, yet we refuse to allow this suffering to be used to justify further harm. In mourning together, we can acknowledge the inequities in our experiences, without equating our narratives, and strive to build understanding, prevent further suffering, and work toward a just peace—a future free of violence, where all can live in dignity, safety, and freedom.
Join us at 6pm at Sneinton Community Centre. Refreshments available before the live-screening upstairs which will begin at 6:30pm promptly and last about 75 minutes. There will be a listening space for reflection on the event after the screening for those wish to stay.
Recommended minimum donation of £5 pounds to cover room hire and towards the £120,000 costs of staging the ceremony.
There is a small car park with one disabled spot and parking on Edale Rd on the same side as the community centre (the right side as you enter the street). The 43 bus stops on Sneinton Dale at the bottom of Edale Rd.
