SunDay is a global day of action on September 21st, 2025, celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean energy. We’ll come together to showcase the power of the sun and wind, the energy sources that can power our world without pollution.

In advance of Sun Day, Climate Action Healdsburg will provide a tour of the extensive floating solar array located at the City of Healdsburg Wastewater Treatment Facility. This is the second largest floating solar farm in the United States. The tour will last approximately one hour and will be led by Rob Scates who is the Superintendent of Water and Wastewater for the City. Rob will be joined by the City's Utilities Department Conservation Analyst, Terra Sampson. There is ample parking at the site but carpooling is encouraged. In order to participate, please RSVP for this event.

The directions are as follows: go west from Healdsburg on Mill Street which becomes Westside Rd. Continue west on Westside Rd. until you get to Felta Road. Turn right onto Felta Road and then be prepared to almost immediately turn left onto foreman Lane which goes under Westside Rd. Go south on foreman Lane about 1 1/2 miles to the Healdsburg wastewater treatment plant where the tour will take place.
