Vigil near the Capitol to Remember the Insurrection 5 years ago

Location and Time: Meet up between 3rd Street and the Capitol Reflecting Pool at 5 pm

The J6 insurrection at the Capitol ended almost 250 years of America's peaceful transfer of power after elections. The riots were nothing less than an attack on democracy itself and should never be forgotten. Join DMV Third Act-ivists for a vigil to remember how close we came to losing our democracy on that day, to acknowledge how close we are now, and to commit to fighting like never before to keep it, in 2026 and the future.
